One of the newest member of the sleepy cetacean family, the blue whale - the largest animal ever to have existed on our planet.
He has been sculpted out of air dry clay, sanded for hours on end, painted with acrylics, brushed with soft pastel powder, and then sealed with a satin varnish.
Air dry clay sculptures are not kiln-fired. This means they are more susceptible to the elements. The sculptures have been sealed with a varnish, but here are some tips to make sure your sculpture has a long and happy life:
- Keep the sculpture dry. Avoid water and high humidity.
- Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid direct sunlight for long periods to prevent fading.
- Handle with care. Air dry clay is fragile and can break if dropped.
